Triple Crown, 2013
Folk Country, Psych Country, Canadiana
I picked up this record when Fiver was at the Marquee on tour. Peter introduced me to 100 Dollars, the previous band fronted by Simone Schmidt, who fronts Fiver, and I was into it. The show was excellent, and I came away with this Candiana prize.
Simone's vocals are earthy and sonorous; the mood of the album captures life's beauty and mystery and sadness. It's a unique and intriguing record. Definitely a keeper.
